OpenAI is preparing for a giant investment round. Several companies, including tech giants Apple and Nvidia, are reportedly in talks to invest in OpenAI. The company, which is already in a close relationship with Microsoft, wants to tie many technology giants to itself.
Apple and Nvidia ready for OpenAI investment
The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg report that Apple is in talks to invest in OpenAI. The tech giant, which recently announced plans to integrate ChatGPT into iOS and macOS, is also working with OpenAI for Apple Intelligence.
Bloomberg also reported that Nvidia is also considering participating in the investment round. Thanks to the investment round led by Thrive Capital, OpenAI’s value could exceed $100 billion.
Apple and Nvidia’s willingness to invest in OpenAI is not surprising given the developments in the industry. Apple will integrate ChatGPT with Siri later this year. It was also planned a while ago that Apple executive Phil Schiller would join the OpenAI board of directors.
Nvidia is an important supplier of OpenAI with the chips it uses to support artificial intelligence services. Microsoft is also allegedly in talks to participate in the investment round. The company, which invested $ 1 billion in OpenAI in 2019 and continues to do so, wants to grow its share in OpenAI.
This new investment by OpenAI will allow the company to accelerate its work in the field of artificial intelligence and grow even more. Especially the investments of giants such as Apple and Nvidia are likely to further strengthen OpenAI’s leading position in the sector.
